WHO ARE WE ~D HOW DO~W~ FIT?
The Children’s Home Chambliss Shelter provides program and management staff to
Newton Center through their contract agreement. The director is an employee of Ch/C S.
Full time staff: 9
Part time staff: 3
An 11-member board governs Newton where Dr. Herbert Hooper, is serving as president.


EVALUATION PROCESS
Newton Child Development Center is a 2-start program governed by TDHS
Every aspect of the agency is evaluated annually, teachers and their training, interactions
with the children in the classroom, voice tone, educational programs, equipment and
supplies, class room furnishings and employee files. With the scholarship money, the management
team and the support of the board and volunteers, our goal is to obtain a 3-star
rating.

ENROLLMENT AND IT BENEFITS
Located on the Westside of town located directly across the street from a low-income
housing development. The majority of our families are from the community.
Children on Certificate: 34 out of 49
83 % of children in program that are under three

1. To paint the inside of the building this year before our next assessment.
2. To add additional infant space and to have a classroom for before and after school
children by 2008
3. All employee will have a CDA certification by 2008
