LISTENING REPORT RESULTS FOR SERVE


Korean church of Knoxville would like to participate in Living Waters Installation program. (Lynn Kszos was notified.)

Lancing Presbyterian has much to offer other congregations by sharing their story of dedication and ideas of how to serve local ministries and have fund raisers for such mission as Living Waters for the World. They have a radio ministry, visit nursing homes and hospital, provide Thanksgiving and Christmas for the needy, and had two concerts to benefit the local food pantry.

Pine Grove had members on a long term mission trip and hope to share their experiences with other churches. They are also interested in Disaster Relief and would like to join a larger church to participate in an ongoing program.
West Emory would like to get more involved with Living Waters and Habitat. They would like to perhaps pair up with Farragut on a LWW project. ( Mary Key, one of the Listeners, noted that she would notify Lynn Kszos.) They have helped another church on a Habitat house when they were short handed and would love to do the same with other churches.

Parkway Presbyterian would like to network with other churches to participate in Habitat for Humanity. They are interested in establishing a local mission project that could reflect good PR for the Presbytery.

Fountain City Presbyterian is very active in mission both locally and in Mississippi and Belize. However, they would like for congregations to share resources that are dedicated to mission. They would like to see more money from presbytery go to missions. FCPC works with congregations (other that PCUSA) in the community. Other PCUSA congregations have not offered much to FCPC. PET could help funnel activities together, i.e., there may be others who would like to go on the mission trip to Belize, but there is not coordination of these efforts at a presbytery level.

First Presbyterian, Cleveland has willing and eager youth and resource persons who would like to join other congregations to help with work projects and/or mission and on a Habitat project

Highland Presbyterian has much to offer other churches regarding fundraising ideas for missions and service projects, ans well as planning for mission trips. They are very active in working with area churches in serving the Hispanic ministry.

Powell Presbyterian is willing to share several ideas to help other churches with planning and organizing mission trips or to possibly join with a congregation on a trip.

Westminster Presbyterian is willing to help smaller churches who may not have enough members to accomplish a service ministry by themselves.

Fairmont Presbyterian is helping Serenity shelter, Unicorn Ministries, and YOKE. During the Listening Session a member of the Listening Team gave them information about the Fountain City Ministry Center where they can connect in service with Fairmont’s food pantry.
